Tools Required To Assemble The QuickRack®:

Hacksaw - to cut Metal Crossbeams to proper width for your vehicle
Power Drill with 1/4" drill bit
1/4" wrench
1/4" Allen wrench ( INCLUDED)

Assembly Instructions:

STEP 1. Measure distance from the inside edge of the bed rail in the driver's side at point #1 to the inside of the bed rail on the passenger's side also at point #1. Record measurement and do the same for point #2 and #3 on the truck bed

STEP 2. Subtract 15½" from EACH measurement. This now becomes the length you need for that Crossbeam. (EXAMPLE: Take inside bed measurement - 15½"=length that Crossbeam needs to be cut)

STEP 3. Cut each Crossbeam to the proper length with a standard hacksaw and label #1, #2, #3 accordingly.

NOTE: SINCE MOST TRUCK BED WIDTHS DIFFER FROM FRONT TO BACK, YOU MUST IDENTIFY WHICH CROSSBEAM GOES IN WHICH POSITION!

STEP 4. Take Crossbeam #1 and insert fully to point A on any of the 6 supplied Support Columns.

STEP 5. Take two (2) Support Brackets and position one (1) on each side of the Support Column, making sure that the three (3) pre-drilled holes on the Metal Bracket line up with the three (3) pre-drilled holes on the Support Column. Insert three (3) ¼" X 2½" Metal Bolts into the three (3) pre-drilled holes. Attach Washer and the Lock Nut to each Metal Bolts and tighten securely.
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

STEP 6. Take power drill with ¼" drill bit and drill into the two (2) remaining holes in the Support Bracket.
DO NOT drill from one side all the way through to the other side. Drill into the Crossbeam connection from one side and then drill into the Crossbeam connection from the other side. Before drilling into the second side, make sure that the Crossbeam remains flush against the Support Column.
(See Diagram in STEP 4)

STEP 7. Insert Metal Bolts and attach Washer and Lock Nut to each bolt. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!

STEP 8. Repeat steps 5 thru 7 with the other end of the Crossbeam.

STEP 9. Repeat steps 1 thru 8 with the two (2) other Crossbeams.

STEP 10. Take one (1) Rubber Pad, remove backing and place on flat portion of Support Column that will rest on the truck bed. Do this for all six (6) Support Columns. NOTE: SEE SUPPORT COLUMN DIAGRAM ON PAGE 1 OF THE INSTRUCTIONS.

STEP 11. Install the assembled sections in the bed of the pickup truck with section #1 closest to the cab, section #2 in the middle and section #3 in the rear of the truck bed. Cut out and apply double-sided adhesive tape to one side of each 1" X 2" Protective Pad. Note: If you do not want the Protective Pads permanently attached to the underside of the truck bed rail or you plan to position the three (3) rack sections in different places on the bed rail at different times to meet your cargo requirements, simply use the Protective Pads without the adhesive tape.
Take the six (6) Locking Bolts and screw into the holes on the bottom of each Support Column. Hand tighten until Locking Bolt is touching the underside of the truck bed rail. Unscrew Locking Bolt just enough to apply Protective Pad where Locking Bolt made contact with the underside of truck bed rail. Press firmly if using the adhesive tape. Make sure Locking Bolts touches in the center of the Protective Pad. Retighten Locking Bolt by hand and finish with the Allen wrench until the Support Column is securely fastened. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN! ONLY TIGHTEN ALLEN WRENCH BY HAND !

STEP 12. Once the Locking Bolt is secure, install the ½" Lock Nut onto each of the six (6) Locking Bolts. Use the Allen wrench to MAKE SURE the Locking Bolt does not continue to tighten while you are tightening the Lock Nut.

Tie-Down Instructions:

Unlike other rack systems that are heavy and bulky with many more connecting bars to give it stability, the QuickRack® is designed to get its' stability directly from the truck bed by using tie-downs

TIE-DOWNS INCLUDED!

Connect the two (2) sections of the tie-downs. Take the end farthest from the ratchet connection and hook to the truck manufacturer provided hook or tie-down hole in the rear of the truck bed. Take the tie-down up to the center Support Column, wrap it around the top of the center Support Column once or twice. Make sure it is only pulled snug from the first "S" hook. Then extend the tie-down to the hook or hole in the front of the truck bed keeping the tie-down pulled snug from the top of the Support Column it is wrapped around. Use the ratchet or cam buckle to tighten this section of the tie-down. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN ! Follow the same instructions to install the second tie-down on the other side of the QuickRack®.

Remember to tie all cargo to at least the QuickRack® center rack section. If you have more than 50 pounds, you should tie your cargo to at least two (2) sections, one of which MUST be the center rack section.

CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE JUST INSTALLED AN INCREDIBLY STRONG, STABLE RACK SYSTEM THAT MAINTAINS ITS' ADVANTAGES OF QUICK-ON/QUICK-OFF, LIGHTWEIGHT AND STORES IN A SMALL AMOUNT OF SPACE.

Safety Warnings:

The following are the safety warnings that must be followed. Failure to follow these warnings and the assembly instructions could result in serious injury or death!

1. NEVER use less than ALL three (3) Support Column sections for hauling any cargo.
2. NEVER haul more than 500 pounds of cargo on the QuickRack® system.
3. ALWAYS distribute the cargo weight EVENLY over the three (3) Support Column sections.
4. After loading any cargo, ALWAYS make sure each locking bolt of each Support Column section is securely tightened to the side of the truck, as shown in the assembly instructions. You must ALWAYS drive more cautiously when hauling cargo. NEVER make sudden turns or stops.
5. ALWAYS use the Protection Pads provided. Failure to do so may damage the underside of your truck.
6. Secure all cargo tightly to the QuickRack® to help insure that it will not shift in case of a sudden stop, a rear end or front collision, or a sharp turn.
7. THE CENTER RACK SECTION MUST BE CROSS-TIED AS SHOWN IN THE ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS ON BOTH SIDES. FAILURE TO DO SO WILL DAMAGE THE QUICKRACK® AND VOID THE WARRANTY.

LIMITED WARRANTY

QuickRack® warranty and liability is limited to the repair or at its' option, replacement of merchandise which proves defective in materials and/or workmanship. The limited warranty is effective for five (5) years from the date of purchase. The limited warranty is applicable only if the assembly instructions, installation instructions and safety warnings are followed and the products are used properly and for its' intended purpose ONLY! Normal wear and tear of QuickRack® products or damage from misuse, accidents, or alterations are not covered by this LIMITED WARRANTY. The purchaser acknowledges that QuickRack® has no control over the attachment of its' products to vehicles or the attachment of items to the QuickRack® products. Accordingly, QuickRack® is not liable or responsible for any damage, loss or injury to any person or property arising out of the improper attachment or improper use of its' products. In addition, this LIMITED WARRANTY applies only to QuickRack® products and not to other products used in conjunction with QuickRack® products. This LIMITED WARRANTY is in lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, and does not cover consequential damages of any kind that may arise from the use or misuse of any QuickRack® products.
